You helped Me Start My Safety Career

Your ideas for empowering team members in the safety committee really stuck with me and it was the first thing I implemented at my previous job. It raised team member morale because they felt more involved and respected, and it made me happy knowing team members had a place they could freely voice their opinion on anything safety related to start an open conversation. This was single handedly the most important part of establishing a good relationship between me and the production team members. Once they realized we were on the same team, we were able to make a lot of process improvements.

Human Touch to Safety

Safety Brye is not only an influencer, but has real experiences she can draw on to tell a story that reinforces a topic. Any topic covered has takeaways, some more than others depending on your point in your career, or current role.

“Wins” that I have seen recently include:
Fall Protection Systems – Ironworkers rely on their fall pro harness, attach points, and retractables. Giving demonstrations, checklists, taking the time to show them how to inspect their equipment has led to them inspecting before use, and actually asking me questions on things they think might be wrong!! WIN.
Second biggest measurable win was our Work Comp rates and figures. This year alone a savings of 34% was achieved, and incident #’s also decreased 25%.
Safety Geek is a program that actually has the human touch element that goes along way.

Invest In Myself

Being new to safety, your podcast as well as the tools you recently shared with me are very much appreciated. I truly enjoy listening to your podcasts. I am very familiar with my company’s operations and
structure, I have reasonable support from my management team, but no formal
training or experience in a safety role. So, listening to your thoughts, recommendations, and experiences has my mind turning in a hundred directions and has me excited for my new role.

I attended the Women in Safety Conference at Keene State and I was very inspired by you! Your message of perseverance was something I needed to here. I struggle with imposter syndrome and I also have an unconventional start to safety.
I worked for about 2 years for an Industrial Hygiene Consulting firm.  In March, I began working as an EHS Coordinator and I love it. I have learned so much.
